PAWS is proudly staffed by team members trained or certified in burn and wound care. Each child is treated by a nurse practitioner or physician during their visit, alongside a registered nurse who specializes in burn and wound care. PAWS is also staffed by a sedation-trained pediatrician called a hospitalist, who will provide sedation if needed. Other team members include a child life specialist, a patient care technician, and physical and occupational therapists. Additional specialized team members may be consulted based on the child’s needs.
