The Pediatric Acute Wound Service (PAWS) is a program in which staff, specially trained in burn and wound care, provide care to children in the hospital and to outpatients. With PAWS, children who do not need to be hospitalized can also have their wound issues addressed.
The PAWS team evaluates each child's needs and coordinates a specialized treatment plan.
PAWS treats:

- Surgical wounds
- Wounds caused by trauma
- Pilonidal disease
Your child may also be a candidate for wound care treatment if they have a wound that is not healing as fast as expected.
