Infusion therapy options

We have separate infusion areas for young children and teens to provide more privacy and comfort. Our Bleeding Disorders Center offers self-infusion and parent-infusion classes so you can choose to have the flexibility and independence of home infusion therapy if you want it.

Inpatient and outpatient services in the same area for seamless care
Dedicated rooms for bone marrow transplant patients and patients with immune deficiencies

Nationally recognized faculty

Our physicians are nationally recognized experts in sickle cell disease, bone marrow failure disorders, platelet defects, von Willebrand disease and chronic granulomatous disease. Our clinical research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other organizations, helping improve the health of children here and around the world.

Pioneering Pediatric Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Program

Experience is important when it comes to stem cell transplants. Our Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program performs dozens of transplants annually, and our bone marrow transplant program was the first in Missouri designed specifically for children.

We use lower doses of chemotherapy to minimize side effects. Our dedicated transplant unit is designed to lower the risk of infection and help your child heal.

Sickle Cell Disease Experts

As the largest sickle cell disease treatment center in Missouri, we have specialized services including a dedicated education liaison and a dedicated social worker. Our multidisciplinary team helps support children with sickle cell disease and their families from birth through young adulthood.

We partner with the Washington University Sickle Cell Disease Transition Clinic, allowing adolescents with sickle cell disease to smoothly transition to adult care. Our sickle cell disease program is recognized by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Designated Hemophilia Treatment Center

Our Bleeding Disorders Center is a federally designated Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC). We offer specialized care for patients with hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease and other bleeding disorders. We provide a seamless transition of care to the adult HTC located at the Washington University Medical Center.

Research and Clinical Trials

We conduct numerous clinical trials that offer potential new treatments before they are widely available. Our program is a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded center for clinical trials on pediatric sickle cell disease.
