Outpatient Pharmacy
The Outpatient Pharmacy at St. Louis Children's Hospital provides prescription medications from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Monday through Friday. The pharmacy compounds many specialty medications for the pediatric patient and assists in locating items that are not readily available in the community. The Outpatient Pharmacy also accepts most prescription drug programs.

The outpatient pharmacy offers an online service. This upgraded access allows customers to order refills online and check the status of your prescription.

Inpatient Pharmacy
The inpatient pharmacy is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The pharmacy team is well integrated throughout the hospital. Pharmacists are involved in medication order entry, preparation and delivery, drug therapy recommendations, drug information consults, therapeutic drug monitoring recommendations, patient care rounds, management of medical emergencies, advancement of pharmacy related technology, quality improvement projects and a variety of ambulatory care clinics.

The pharmacy compounds many specialty medications for the pediatric patient population and assists in locating items that are not readily available in the community. The pharmacy accepts most prescription drug programs, including Illinois and Missouri Medicaid. A member of the pharmacy team can hand deliver prescriptions to patients wherever they are located within the building. Our pharmacy team is well integrated throughout the facility. In addition to filling prescriptions, our pharmacists are involved in meeting acute medication needs of surgery, radiology, and infusion center patients through order entry, preparation, drug therapy recommendations, and drug information consults.
Pharmacy Residency Program
The Pharmacy Department proudly offers two American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency positions for PGY1 and PGY2.
