Paid Time Off (PTO) – Twenty-five days of PTO are provided to the residents. Ten of these days are used for holidays with the remaining 15 days being available for vacation, sick, interview, or personal days. Residents wishing to work on an observed holiday rather than taking PTO may do so in discussion with the RPD. Any PTO remaining at the end of employment with St. Louis Children’s Hospital will be handled in accordance with current policy. The use of PTO must be approved by the residency program director and current rotation preceptor. Total absences from any rotation for any reason, including personal leave, holidays, sick leave, and educational leave should not exceed 25% of the rotation without residency program director’s approval. The resident is responsible for arranging coverage of other responsibilities, including staffing, during any period of absence. Exceptions to covering responsibilities are events attended by all residents annually, including ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association annual meeting and urgent personal leave (for example, sick days or bereavement leave).

Educational Meetings – The residents will travel to the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association (PPA) in the spring.

Each resident will be provided with office space, including computer and telephone access. Appropriate reference materials are available in the resident’s office and pharmacy.
