St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) welcomes Sam Darweesh, MBA, as vice president of operations at Children’s and vice president of The Women & Infants Center at Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s hospitals. He joined SLCH December 10.
“Sam has led large-scale operational transformations at nationally recognized health care organizations,” says Mark Shen, MD, St. Louis Children’s Hospital president. “He’s a mission-driven, emotionally intelligent servant leader with a collaborative and cooperative leadership style vital to our culture and future success.”
As the Vice President of Operations for Medical Imaging Solutions, a nationwide health care management company, Sam partnered with respected integrated delivery systems including Tenet Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente.
Sam holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business. His wife, Nina Darweesh, MBA, served for four years on a U.S. Department of State Provincial Reconstruction Team during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sam and Nina have a daughter, Sarah, 7, who enjoys ballet and is excited to visit the Saint Louis Zoo.
