When to Call
Palliative care is most often begun at a time when a child’s team or family is beginning to have questions about how best to care for their child. The PACT can provide services to a child receiving inpatient or outpatient care. A child’s medical team may suggest palliative care to a family or a family can contact the PACT office for more information. The PACT continues to provide support along the journey for as long as the patient and family need.
Palliative care is not giving up. It enables children and families to focus on life and what brings them joy. Through a family-centered approach, palliative care promotes healing, comfort and making experiences meaningful.
