Art Therapy Practicum Internship
St. Louis Children's Hospital offers an Art Therapy Practicum (Internship) for graduate-level students enrolled in an AATA-approved graduate Art Therapy program. This hands-on experience will provide students with the opportunity to work identified patients within the hospital setting both individually and within groups.
Graduate students will by supervised by a staff Art Therapist(s), who will identify individuals to be seen during their internship. The student intern will be closely supervised throughout the internship, beginning the internship observing sessions followed by opportunities to lead in planning, organizing, and implementing individual and group art therapy sessions. The student can expect to receive weekly supervision from one of the staff Art Therapists. Supervision meetings will include exploration of current topics and issues through writing and art based assignments.
