Interventional radiology is a subspecialty of radiology using image-guided, minimally invasive procedures that often are alternatives to conventional surgery. Some are purely diagnostic while others are done for treatment.
X-rays, ultrasound and other medical images are used to guide small instruments such as catheters through the blood vessels or other pathways to treat or diagnose disease.
Our board certified Interventional Radiologists and supporting staff are specially trained to help children from newborn to teens. Most procedures are performed with the pediatric anesthesia team.
