St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Neurorehabilitation Program is a multi-disciplinary program designed to address the needs of children and adolescents who have suffered severe injury or illness. We provide inpatient neurorehabilitation for children age 10 months and older whose illness or injury has resulted in impaired physical, cognitive or communication skills.
St. Louis Children’s Hospital Neurorehabilitation Program strives to maximize physical, psychological, cognitive, social and educational outcomes for children whose diagnoses include:
- Traumatic and other acquired brain injury
- Hypoxic brain injury
- Stroke
- Spinal cord injury
- Spinal Muscular Atrophy
- Brain and spinal cord tumors
- Cerebral palsy
- Epilepsy and epilepsy remediating procedures
- Meningitis and encephalitis
- Guillain-Barre Syndrome
- Traumatic and severe orthopedic injuries
- Post-surgical musculoskeletal diagnoses
- Severe neuromuscular deconditioning secondary to prolonged ventilatory support
